While he enjoys professional success, his personal life is strained by a sexless marriage to Shavonne, his wife of 15 years. He takes on a case representing Jada Campbell, whose husband was involved in a life-altering accident. Jada, a victim of verbal and emotional abuse from her husband, develops feelings for Jamal. He, in turn, succumbs to temptation and crosses a professional boundary, soon realizing his world may be on the verge of collapse.
